What can the technology lookup API do?
Technologies reads a company's homepage, its headers and cookies, its robots.txt and its DNS records, and returns every technology they show: ecommerce platform, CMS, analytics, tag manager, payments, CDN, mail host and more, each with its categories, a confidence score and the matches that prove it.
It also lists the services the domain has an account with, as its DNS verification records show, and returns the raw homepage facts and DNS records it read, so you can check any finding or run your own rules.

Frequently asked questions
What does it detect?
Technologies a site shows in its pages, headers, cookies, scripts and DNS: ecommerce platforms, CMSs, analytics and tag managers, advertising pixels, payment processors, CDNs, hosting and mail providers, and more.
What are accounts?
Services the domain has an account with, shown only by a DNS verification record (for example a TXT record a service asks you to add). A service the site also shows is listed under technologies instead.
How do I know a match is right?
Every technology comes with a confidence score and up to three pieces of evidence: where it matched (header, cookie, script, meta, HTML, DNS) and the matched text.
What if the site blocks the request?
The response says so with page.blocked, and the headers, cookies and DNS records are still read. If the site cannot be reached, page.error says why and the DNS findings are still returned.
How much does a lookup cost?
$0.001 per domain at the base rate, less as your daily volume grows. No plan and no monthly fee: you top up a balance and each lookup is charged from it.
Am I charged when a call fails?
No. A call that fails is not billed.
